Upgrading to V2 - what’s happening with the web and mobile apps

By Alex Zmuda 4 min read

We are in the middle of upgrading TaxiManager to V2 - a rebuilt web application and a new mobile app, designed around how UK drivers actually work week to week.

This is not a cosmetic refresh. V2 is a ground-up rebuild: faster flows on the road, clearer records as you go - but everything has to stay aligned with HMRC rules for digital records, MTD, and reporting. Those requirements are formal and non-negotiable, so we check each step carefully rather than rushing a half-finished move. That is a big part of why the migration takes a bit longer than a simple app swap.

What is changing

Web app (V2) - The new web experience is not public yet. It will go live at app.taximanager.co.uk on 31 July 2026. From that date, that is the address for signing up and for using TaxiManager on the web. Layout, navigation, and weekly recording are built for phone-first use between jobs, not desk-side admin at year-end.

Until then, keep using the current web app at app.v1.taximanager.co.uk (the version you use today). Existing users can keep working as normal - nothing changes for day-to-day recording before the cutover.

Mobile app - A dedicated iOS and Android app is part of the same V2 platform. We are rolling it out alongside the web rebuild so income, expenses, and mileage stay in one place whether you are on a browser or on your phone.

What stays the same - Your tax categories, MTD readiness, and the accounting standards behind TaxiManager do not change because the shell did. What changes is how quickly you can keep records current without a separate “catch-up” session.

Roadmap

When What happens
Now - 30 July 2026 V2 is in final preparation and is not public yet. Keep using the current web app at app.v1.taximanager.co.uk. We migrate accounts and infrastructure behind the scenes; the older app is in wind-down, not active development.
31 July 2026 V2 goes live at app.taximanager.co.uk. New sign-ups and migrated accounts use this address. The old web app at app.v1.taximanager.co.uk is switched off. All web access is through app.taximanager.co.uk.
Ongoing iOS and Android apps roll out as part of the V2 platform.

Where we are in the migration

We are actively preparing users and infrastructure for V2. That means:

  • V2 is not publicly available yet.
  • V2 goes live at app.taximanager.co.uk on 31 July 2026.
  • Until that date, use the current app at app.v1.taximanager.co.uk.
  • We move accounts to V2 as part of the cutover - we will contact you before your account is moved, with clear steps so your history comes across cleanly.
  • Features and fixes land on V2; the older app is in wind-down, not active development.
  • On 31 July 2026, the old version at app.v1.taximanager.co.uk is switched off. From then on, all web access is through app.taximanager.co.uk.

If you are unsure which address to use, check the URL when you log in. Until 31 July, stay on app.v1.taximanager.co.uk. After the cutover, use app.taximanager.co.uk. If you are still on the previous version before switch-off, you do not need to do anything yet - we will contact you, or you can switch when we say you are ready.

What you should do

If you are new - Until V2 goes live on 31 July, start a free trial on the current app. From 31 July, sign up at app.taximanager.co.uk.

If you are an existing user - Keep recording as normal on app.v1.taximanager.co.uk. We will let you know when your account is ready to move to V2. The old version stops on 31 July 2026; from that date, use app.taximanager.co.uk.

If you want the full picture on the rebuild - We have written more about the thinking behind V2 in TaxiManager Has Been Rebuilt - What Changed and Why It Matters and A quieter change - what the new version actually fixes.

What to expect next

Everything lands on 31 July 2026: V2 goes public at app.taximanager.co.uk, and the old web app is switched off. Until then you may see short periods of maintenance while we finish the move, and mobile store releases as the apps reach general availability.

We will post updates here when something affects how you log in, record work, or report. If you have a support question in the meantime, contact us through the app or at support@taximanager.co.uk.

V2 is the foundation we are building on - web and mobile together - so TaxiManager stays dependable as reporting expectations keep tightening. Thanks for bearing with us while we finish the move.
