What Changed in the Rebuilt Driver App - and Why It Matters

By Alex Zmuda 2 min read

TaxiManager has a new look - but this is not just a visual refresh. We rebuilt the experience around what UK drivers actually do when they move between jobs, not when they sit down to do “admin”.

The point was to cut the gap between doing the work and having a clear record of it. If the app only becomes easy at year-end, it will always feel like a chore. The layout, navigation and weekly flow are there to match how shifts actually run: money in, costs out, mileage that makes sense on the road.

Under the hood, the same tax and MTD rules Paul and Lucy sign off on are still what drive the numbers. What changed is how those numbers get to you: fewer dead ends, less hunting for where to put a trip, and a structure that assumes you are on a phone between fares, not at a desk.

If you are already using TaxiManager, you will feel the difference in small steps first - where things sit, how often you need to think about the tool instead of the job. If you are new, you are starting from a base that was designed after years of real driver support, not a generic small-business template.

We will keep shipping fixes and clarity where the product still gets in the way. When something is worth a straight explanation, you will see it here on the blog.

Upgrading to TaxiManager V2 V2 goes live 31 Jul at app.taximanager.co.uk. Until then use app.v1.
